Here is where children’s creativity really starts to heat up!  Pretend play is how they practice being grown-ups.  And they want to build, build, build:  forts, castles and houses, for themselves or for their stuffed animals and dolls.  They’re starting to learn how the world works, and sand and water play are very big now.  You may also find that you have a budding artist on your hands.  Art is a terrific way for children to express themselves.  You can teach your child just about anything through art:  emotions, letters, shapes, taking turns with a crayon.  Put on some music and come play with your child!
