Retail Sales Associate

Turner Toys and Hobbies is a fun, fast-paced and exciting place to work.  We pride ourselves on our high quality toy and hobby selection and our array of events from Magic the Gathering to preschool crafts.

We want our customers to have an amazing in-store experience.  The Retail Sales Associate is key to our customers’ satisfaction because s/he is the first and most important impression at our store.

The Retail Sales Associate reports directly to the Store Owner.

The associate is expected to learn (with training) the basics of childhood development and how to identify the best toys for those growth stages.

General Responsibilities:

Retail sales

  • Greet and interact with customers. Make them feel welcome and offer to help them find the perfect toy.
  • Walk the floor regularly to assist customers, straighten up and check product levels.
  • Perform general cashier duties, using our computerized POS system.
  • Answer the telephone in a professional and timely manner.

Inventory

  • Check in, price and put away new merchandise either in storage or on shelves.

In-Store set up and maintenance

  • Stock and maintain sales floors
  • Merchandise windows and other in-store displays
  • Straighten up, dust, vacuum, clean bathrooms, windows, etc. as needed

Additional duties (depending on experience or willingness to learn)

  • Social media posts (Facebook, Instagram)
  • In-store sign design and creation
  • Design and/or lead children’s activities
