Description
The Avion de Penaud Airplane Kit is inspired by Alphonse Penaud's "Planophore", the first rubber band powered miniature aircraft. Designed by Alphonse Penaud when he was 21, the "Planophore" flew 181 feet in 81 seconds. Although largely forgotten by history, Penaud was an aviation pioneer whose work was years ahead of its time. Among his other inventions is a toy helicopter that taught two boys from Ohio named Orville and Wilbur Wright basic aerodynamic principles.
This kit, designed by Hitoshi Yoshida, includes the novel pusher propeller design and cruciform tail. Once built you'll be ready to set records on your own. Wingspan measures 16.1" and length is 18.5". For ages 12 & up.
